# askthetape.com > Daily bitcoin and crypto-market metrics: our own capture where we have one, an exchange's or a public archive where we do not — each page says which. Every chart is drawn in the reader's browser. Every page names its source, its cadence, the day of its last closed point and what is wrong with it. A thermometer, not a forecast: nothing here predicts direction. Numbers and charts are free to quote under CC BY 4.0 with a link to the page they came from. Each page below carries its own day, and the word in front of that day says what the day is. «last closed point» is the last day the page's own number covers. «snapshot taken» is the day a snapshot was read — a book of open orders, a board of future expiries. «scanned through» is the day we scanned the page's own series through: that page's headline number is an event on it — a cross, a door, a week's close, a mint — and the event keeps its own date in the page's own sentence and in the temporalCoverage of its markup, so the two dates are not the same thing. Whichever of the three it is, it is the day the page's Dataset markup carries as dateModified and the sitemap as lastmod. This build ran 2026-10-23. Every daily series stays free. Hourly readings inside the day are on the Tape plan; 5-minute and 1-minute readings, files and an API key are on Desk. ## The chain What the network itself did, measured on our own node and archives. - [Payments per day](https://askthetape.com/m/transactions-per-day/): How many payments the network handled each day. The day is the one printed next to the page above, and the word in front of it says what it is: «last closed point» on a page with an unbroken daily series, «snapshot taken» on a snapshot, «scanned through» on a page whose number is an event — there the event's own date is on the page itself and is older than this day. The same day rides in the page's Dataset markup as dateModified and in the sitemap as lastmod.
