Terms of use

Plain words. These terms cover the free charts, accounts and the paid plans of askthetape.com.
Data, not advice. askthetape is not investment advice; no execution, no custody; no trading signals. We publish measurements of the market and the chain. We do not tell anyone what to buy or sell, we never touch your money or your coins, and we place no orders for anyone. You draw the conclusion.

Who we are and what you get

Who sells the plans

The plans described here are sold by askthetape (the operator of this website). In these terms “we” means askthetape; “you” means the person who reads the site or holds an account. Write to askthetape@gmail.com about anything on this page.

What a plan gives you

Access to data and software features of the site: the charts, readings inside the day, files of our series where your plan includes them, alerts that fire when a series crosses a level you set yourself, and an API key on the Desk plan. What each plan includes is listed on the plans page. Every daily chart stays free without an account.

What it is not

Not investment, legal or tax advice, and not a forecast. No trading signals, no recommendations, no managed accounts, no brokerage. Alerts are notices about data crossing your own levels; they do not suggest a trade. Any decision you make with the data is yours.

The data is given as is

We build the numbers carefully and say on each page where they come from and where they stop. We do not promise that any series is complete, free of gaps or errors, or available at every moment, and pages, series and features can change or be withdrawn. We are not liable for losses that come from using or relying on the data.

Plans and payment

A prepaid pass, not a subscription

A plan is a pass for a fixed term paid in advance: 30 days, or 365 days where the plans page offers it. There is no automatic renewal and no later charge. When the term ends the account returns to Free. Renewing adds days to the time you have left.

How you pay

Prices are in US dollars and shown on the plans page before you pay. Card payments, where card checkout is offered, are processed by our merchant of record, the payment partner shown at checkout, which charges the card and handles sales tax or VAT where it applies. You can also pay in bitcoin (BTC) or USDT through the invoice page in your account, to our own wallet addresses.

Refunds

When you pay by card through the payment partner shown at checkout, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of the purchase, back to the same card; for Desk, the refund right ends at your first file download or first API-key call, which you confirm at checkout. Payments in bitcoin or USDT are final and not refundable. The refund policy says how to ask.

Enterprise

Enterprise scope, term and delivery are agreed separately by email, in writing, before anything is paid.

Using the site

Personal use

Use the charts, files and API answers in your own work, and quote them with a link. Do not resell or republish our files or series as a feed, do not share your account or API key, and do not scrape the site. Republishing or reselling needs an Enterprise agreement.

When access can end

If these terms are broken — files resold, a key shared, the site scraped or attacked — we can suspend or close the account and its key. You can stop at any time: a plan that is not renewed simply returns to Free.

Your data

What we store about readers and accounts, and for how long, is on the privacy page.

Changes

When these terms change, the date below changes with them. A change does not shorten a term you have already paid for.
