The whole crypto market · TOTAL, without bitcoin, without ether

TOTAL is every coin the tally sees added up; TOTAL2 takes bitcoin out of that sum; OTHERS takes ether out too.

$2.72T the whole market, and what is left without the big two · TOTAL · every coin the tally sees on Oct-22 2026, the last day in this build, read from a public record, published by askthetape.com.

For everyone

Add up what every coin on the tally's list is worth and you get TOTAL: $2.724T on 2026-10-22. Take bitcoin out of that sum and TOTAL2 is $1.087T. Take ether out as well and OTHERS is $0.795T. Here the three are lines from one file, and the fourth view is what share of TOTAL each big coin holds — bitcoin 60.09%, ether 10.73%, every other coin together 29.18%. Against the last twelve months TOTAL sits -29.9% from its high (2025-10-26) and +33.9% above its low (2026-06-30). OTHERS, the part with neither big coin in it, is -27.1% from its own year high and +18.7% above its own year low. 🩸 THIS IS A PRICE COUNT, NOT A MONEY COUNT. TOTAL goes up when prices go up, and it also goes up when a coin is added to the list — nobody has to bring a dollar for either. What counts as «every coin» is the tally's choice, not a fact about the world, and a coin that stops being listed leaves the sum without anybody selling it. 🩸 The two biggest caps we can also count OURSELVES, and the last view does: bitcoin's live supply from our own ledger times the Binance spot price, ether's supply from a free community chain-metrics archive times the same. Over the last 30 days our bitcoin cap sits a median -0.42% from the tally's and our ether cap +0.05%. Neither is «the true one» — but a page that could not count at all would never know the gap was there. 146 of our 2,023 closed days were built from under 20 snapshots and are flagged in the file, not smoothed over. No forecast is drawn here.

For the pro

legsnapshots of a second public market tally taken by an open crawler and mirrored into our own table since 2021-03-26 — the day takes the LAST snapshot of the UTC day. We keep and check the snapshots; we do not take them. The crawler has thinned out: a day of the last thirty carries a median of 5 snapshots, against 24 over the whole history, so «hourly» is what the cadence USED to be, not a promise about today. Over the whole history the median day carries 24 snapshots, the thinnest 3 and the fattest 112. The same mirror already feeds «Bitcoin's share of the market» and «How much of crypto sits in dollars»; this page pulls NO NEW BYTES and reads the daily roll-up of that file. Checked on this build: the roll-up's TOTAL against our own copy of the snapshot table on 2,023 common days, largest difference $0.01.
cadencedaily; the running UTC day is cut out of the line: Free sees a dashed outline, its reading so far is on Tape
since2021-03-26 — the first snapshot in the open crawler's archive; our mirror copied that archive from its first monthly file, so nothing before that date exists here and no other archive is mixed in
🩸 a closed day, and the 14 that were nota day counts as closed only if its last snapshot landed at 22Z or later. 14 days in the whole history closed earlier and are NOT drawn: 2022-05-04, 2022-05-11, 2026-08-06, 2026-08-26, 2026-08-28, 2026-09-14, 2026-09-16, 2026-09-24, 2026-09-26, 2026-09-29, 2026-10-02, 2026-10-11, 2026-10-13, 2026-10-15. One of them, 2022-05-11, carries a single snapshot at 01Z in the middle of the Terra week — it would have been yesterday's price wearing today's date. The line has a one-day hole on each instead.
🩸 thin days are printed, not smoothed146 of 2,023 closed days were built from fewer than 20 snapshots (years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2026). They stay in the line as they are: the alternative is to invent a value for a day the capture was quiet, and this site does not do that. The median day has 24 snapshots behind it.
🩸 what the subtraction is, and is notTOTAL2 and OTHERS are computed here, not copied: TOTAL2 = TOTAL − bitcoin, OTHERS = TOTAL − bitcoin − ether, and the dominance line = bitcoin ÷ TOTAL. Re-checked on every build over 2,023 days — largest disagreement 0.000000 % of TOTAL for TOTAL2, 0.000000 % for OTHERS, 0.000000 points for the share. The tally also publishes an altcoin total of its own; our subtraction and that total part company by at most $3.69B (2025-05-29, 0.1095 % of TOTAL) over 2,023 days, so they are the same quantity computed twice.
🩸 our own count of the two big caps, measured 2026-10-23bitcoin: live supply from our own UTXO ledger × Binance spot BTCUSDT. Ether: supply from a free community chain-metrics archive (asset eth, metric SplyCur, 2015-07-30 → 2026-10-22), pulled into our own store once a day × ETHUSDT — we run a bitcoin node, not an ethereum one, and this page names the archive instead of borrowing the word. Against the tally over the last 30 days with both columns (2026-09-15 → 2026-10-22) the medians are -0.42 % for bitcoin and +0.05 % for ether; over all 2,023 days -0.43 % and -0.04 %, worst day +5.13 % and -4.76 %. The gap is supply definitions and the price venue, not a scandal — we draw it instead of choosing a winner.
what differsTOTAL2 and OTHERS as first-class lines with their own year distances. Both subtractions and the dominance line are computed from the same snapshot on every build rather than read off somebody's chart, and the two biggest caps carry our own second count next to them.
🩸 the second count does not agree, and here is by how muchthe other daily capture this site keeps — the free /global tally drawn on «Bitcoin's share of the market» — carries a total and both big caps too, so TOTAL2 and OTHERS CAN be checked against it. They do not match. Over the 916 common days (2024-04-08 → 2026-10-22) the second count's TOTAL runs a median +13.13 % from this page's, its TOTAL2 +31.04 % and its OTHERS +44.79 %; on 2026-10-22 the same three read +3.87 %, +4.97 % and +5.61 %. The disagreement is the DENOMINATOR — what each tally calls «every coin» is a different list, and the step between the two is dated on that page — which is why the subtractions drift further than the total itself. We publish the mirror that reaches back to 2021-03-26 and print the other one's distance rather than averaging two lists into a number nobody keeps.
thinner herehistory starts 2021-03-26, the first snapshot of the crawler archive we mirror — we hold no older archive and do not borrow one. And there is only ONE list behind the lines on this page: the second count above reaches back to 2024-04-08, not to 2021, so before that date TOTAL2 and OTHERS have nothing to be checked against at all.
where the rest of this snapshot livesthe dollar side of the very same capture — the stablecoin pile, USDT's share and the pile against bitcoin's value — is on «How much of crypto sits in dollars», which also draws the ex-bitcoin total as a side view. Bitcoin's share counted twice, by two independent daily captures, is on «Bitcoin's share of the market». Neither page is repeated here.
