What longs pay shorts on 21 coins across five exchanges, each venue's rate put on one clock: per 8 hours and per year. Venues settle every 8, 4 or 1 hours, so raw rates are not comparable until they are. As of 00:00Z Oct-23.
−2.51% a year · Binance, the middle of 21 coins' average rate on Oct-22 · as of 00:00Z Oct-23, Oct-22 2026, measured and published by askthetape.com.
Funding is the fee that holders of a perpetual contract pay each other to keep its price near the real one: above zero the longs pay the shorts, below zero the shorts pay the longs. Exchanges charge it on different clocks — on this page Binance: 15 coins every 8 h, 6 coins every 4 h; Bybit: 17 coins every 8 h, 4 coins every 4 h; OKX: 13 coins every 8 h, 6 coins every 4 h; Bitget: 15 coins every 8 h, 6 coins every 4 h; Hyperliquid: 21 coins every 1 h. A raw 0.01% on Hyperliquid therefore costs eight times what 0.01% costs on an 8-hour venue. The table puts every cell on one clock: the rate per 8 hours and the rate per year (the per-period rate times the number of payments in a year, no compounding), next to the raw rate with its own interval. Colour follows the yearly rate. The chart below is the middle coin of each venue, day by day.
| leg | own 5-second capture of the funding rate on five venues (the live rate each venue publishes for its next payment), 21 coins; a cell's «at the close» = the last such quote of the venue's last closed UTC day, «7 days» = the mean of every quote in the seven closed days (weighted by quotes; under half the quotes → blank) |
|---|---|
| 🩸 interval = part of the unit | rate per 8 hours = raw × 8 ÷ interval hours; per year = raw × 24 ÷ interval hours × 365 (simple, no compounding). Binance, Bybit and Hyperliquid: the interval is the number of payments per day in the venue's own funding history (public API, last day 2026-09-13), checked against our own last 14 days — a mismatch blanks the cell. OKX and Bitget: their history is not in our tree, so the interval is read from our own capture — in the quiet zone a venue charges only the interest part, 0.01% per 8 hours scaled to its interval (0.005% for 4 hours, 0.00125% for 1 hour), and the most common exact value over 30 closed days names the interval. The same rule on the three venues with an archive agrees on 63 legs, disagrees on 0, finds no base on 0. |
| intervals on the page | Binance 4h × 6, Binance 8h × 15, Bitget 4h × 6, Bitget 8h × 15, Bybit 4h × 4, Bybit 8h × 17, Hyperliquid 1h × 21, OKX 4h × 6, OKX 8h × 13 |
| checked once, Sep-25 2026 | the last quote of Sep-24 against each venue's own settled rate at 00:00Z Sep-25: OKX, Bitget and Hyperliquid equal on 21 of 21 coins, Binance and Bybit within 0.0003 percentage points (their rate keeps moving until the payment); the intervals on this page against the venues' own contract lists the same evening: 84 of 84 equal. A one-time check, not re-run by each build. |
| 🩸 a blank cell says why | no quote on the closed day, fewer than 60 quotes (five minutes) in its last hour — then the day's last quote may be hours before midnight —, under half the week's quotes, or an interval we cannot establish: the cell shows «—» and the reason on hover, never a guess |
| time | each venue is quoted at the end of ITS last closed UTC day (00:00Z Oct-23); the running day is not published on this page; the hour-by-hour history of the same 105 legs (raw rate) is the hourly window of /m/funding-by-coin/, the Tape layer |
| what the page is not | the rate each venue quoted for its payment at the close (on Binance and Bybit the rate finally charged can still differ slightly — see the one-time check) or the week's average quote; not the rate of a later payment, and not an arbitrage calculator: no fees, no spreads, no depth. The 21 coins are the ones we capture on all five venues; Bybit's whole board (every token perpetual) is on /m/funding-breadth/. |
