Alt season is a crowd, not a coin. Each day we count the coins in the panel and ask how many beat bitcoin over the last week and the last month. 🩸 the panel is the perps listed at this build, each counted from its own first day: contracts Binance has since delisted are not in it, and the number of coins counted grows from a handful in 2020 to hundreds now. That makes the recent years a wide census and the early years a narrow one, so the LEVEL is comparable inside an epoch and the count is not comparable across epochs. Counted on Binance's own public daily closes, so it reaches back years, not weeks.

the coin list is pulled from the exchange as it stands TODAY, not as it stood on each historical day: a contract that was listed in 2021 and delisted in 2023 is absent from the whole history, and the denominator therefore rises monotonically with listings instead of moving with the market. The «coins counted» view is the honest companion to the share — read it first. One coin's move is worth several points of breadth in the thin early years and a fraction of a point today, so a record in one epoch is not a record in another, and this page never claims «every perpetual alive».
