We do not buy chain data. We run a bitcoin node and rebuild the ledger from it, and every page on this site that reads the ledger stands on that copy. The line on this page is the guard: our ledger against our own node, day by day. It sits at 99.57 % on 2026-10-22. We count it against the coin our node's block headers say was mined by the end of each day, and on every day since 2009-01-03 it has stayed between 99.50 % (2024-05-03) and 100.00 %, never 1 % away from our node. What the guard checks is that gap from our node: if it ever passes 1 %, the freshness check turns every page built on the ledger STALE until we know why.
