The top of the order books of 70 coins on up to five derivatives venues, snapshotted every thirty seconds (the Binance book inside is re-read about every 110 seconds): dollars resting within one percent of the price where the book reaches that far, and how many venues we could see. One ruler since April: compare a coin with its own history, not coins with each other. For BTC, ETH and ZEC the books we read end before 1 % of the price — those totals are floors, not totals.
$137.3M BTC · lower bound · money waiting within 1 % of price · bids on Oct-22 2026, the last day in this build, measured and published by askthetape.com.
The live order-book page shows bitcoin. This one shows every coin we watch. Every thirty seconds we read the top of the books and add up the money sitting within one percent of the price, where the book reaches that far. The books are the top levels each venue publishes (Binance 1,000 levels, Bybit 200, OKX 400 …), so for BTC, ETH and ZEC the books we hold end at or inside 1 % of price — for BTC within the first tenths of a percent: read their lines as a lower bound and do not rank coins by this chart until the coverage band is published; any coin's total is a lower bound wherever one venue's book is shorter than 1 %. The number that opens each coin says where its last closed day sits in that coin's own history — its percentile among its last 90 days, a thin book at the 20th or below, a thick one at the 80th or above. The percentile is computed on depth in coins, so a rising price alone does not make a book look thicker. Percentiles are shown where our stored price for the coin carries enough precision; for the cheapest coins they will appear once the price feed is stored unrounded. We show how the captured depth changed while the price held steady.
| leg | `orderbook_snapshots` — own capture; the depth columns are the exchange-summed top of each book (the levels each venue publishes) within ±1 % of the mid, the venue count is the number of exchanges present in that snapshot |

| policy | 🩸 the capture has a hole: 2026-05-01 … 2026-05-06 has no rows at all (6 days) — the line BREAKS there, it is not joined. 🩸 the venue count is per coin, not a blanket «five exchanges»: Hyperliquid covers 21 of the 70 coins, Bitget 68, OKX 67, Binance and Bybit 70. · export: whole history |
| policy | 🩸 the books end early: we read the top levels each venue publishes and keep no record of how far they reach, so the test is our own bands — when the 2 % band adds less than 1 % to the 1 % band (or the 1 % band less than 1 % to the 0.5 % band), the books ran out before that band. BTC: 1–2 % flat on 197 of 197 days (30 of the last 30), 0.5–1 % flat on 197 of 197; ETH: 1–2 % flat on 197 of 197 days (30 of the last 30), 0.5–1 % flat on 67 of 197; ZEC: 1–2 % flat on 20 of 99 days (15 of the last 30), 0.5–1 % flat on 0 of 99. Those coins say «lower bound» on their line and sit at the end of the coin list; BTC stays first as the page's opening view. The rest of the list is ordered by the dollars within 0.5 % of the price, a band their books reach past. Any coin's total is a lower bound wherever one venue's book is shorter than 1 %. · export: whole history |
| gaps | measured on this leg, not assumed: the line has no point on 2026-05-01 … 2026-05-06 (6 days) — it BREAKS there and nothing is drawn across it · the same week is missing from every exchange-tape leg we keep (order books, funding ticks, basis, liquidations), so it is one collector outage, not a property of this market |
