Money waiting to buy and money waiting to sell as deep as the five books are sent — about 0.05 % of the price on OKX, 0.10 % on Binance, 0.10 % on Bitget, 0.15 % on Bybit — plus the largest single orders. Day 1 of our tape.
−$4.9M buy side minus sell side on Oct-25 2026, the last day in this build, measured and published by askthetape.com.
The first view is one number a day: money waiting to buy minus money waiting to sell as deep as the books are sent, green when buyers wait with more, red when sellers do. Every half minute we read the order books of five exchanges for bitcoin and add up what sits as deep as each book is sent: the money waiting to buy and the money waiting to sell. How deep that is differs by exchange — about 0.05 % of the price on OKX, 0.10 % on Binance and Bitget, 0.15 % on Bybit over 2026-10-09…12. The daily average is shown. The wall is the heaviest $10 price step of the five books added together — every order resting at that step, inside the part of the book we read — not one order.

| how deep the books are sent | about 0.05 % of the price on OKX, 0.10 % on Binance and Bitget, 0.15 % on Bybit (p05 of minute reach, measured 2026-10-09…12); Hyperliquid bitcoin book carries no ladder depth in that sample |

| 🩸 since when | the bitcoin line has always been the top of the books we read: the 1 % band equals the 2 % band on every day checked (Apr-10, Jul-01, Sep-01 and Oct-07 2026); since Jul-16 2026 the Binance book is re-read about every 110 seconds, before that in every snapshot; since Oct-09 2026 the five books come from one fetcher and Bybit sends 1,000 levels instead of 200 |
| policy | 🩸 the capture has a hole — 2026-05-01 … 2026-05-06 carries no rows at all (6 days, re-checked on prod 2026-09-11) — and the line BREAKS there rather than being joined across it. All five venues are in every bitcoin snapshot, and a venue whose feed drops keeps its last book in the snapshots until it reconnects; across the whole capture the venue count is per coin, not a blanket five: Hyperliquid covers 21 of the 70 coins, Bitget 68, OKX 67, Binance and Bybit 70 (the per-coin page is «Which coins actually have money waiting»). · export: whole history |
